Monarch Gears Up for the Winter Season: Preparing for Snow and Ice

The snow season is approaching, and at Monarch, we are diligently getting ready. As autumn's chill sets in and ushers in colder temperatures, we are proactively preparing our company, teams, and equipment to handle the harsh winter weather that lies ahead. This includes dealing with freezing rain, blizzards, and ice storms in the communities where we operate. Early preparation is crucial as it enables us to deliver prompt, precise, and comprehensive services when winter conditions strike suddenly. Here's an overview of our current efforts to ready our teams and assist our clients for the impending winter season:

Staff Recruitment:

Our dedicated team members play a vital role in keeping the communities we serve safe and their roads clear. These professionals are on call from October through mid-May, tirelessly working in trucks, on ATVs, and even shoveling snow. Their hard work ensures that the community enjoys as safe conditions as possible. If you're interested in joining our team, visit our careers page and submit an application!

Training:

At Monarch, training is a continuous process. After hiring staff, we conduct an "All Staff" orientation in early October. This orientation includes video training, necessary paperwork, equipment training, and a snowplow driving test. Depending on our contracts with clients, we develop specific curriculum and training for individual routes, ensuring our drivers are familiar with their assigned routes well before the onset of adverse weather conditions.

Setting Expectations:

Our managers engage in detailed discussions with property managers, owners, and municipal staff to clarify the expectations for service delivery during each snow event. We collaborate with property managers to plan and prepare for various conditions and weather scenarios, including addressing early season storms, large-scale disruptions, and more.

Vehicle Preparation:

Our full-time personnel then complete the process of transitioning our vehicles from their summer configurations to winter-ready setups, complete with snow plows and sanders. They conduct comprehensive safety and equipment checklists, which include tire inspections and preventive maintenance.

De-icing Materials:

Our team is actively gathering, cataloging, and stockpiling materials to combat snowy and icy road conditions. We've already placed orders for ice-melt materials for most of our municipal contracts and will soon be ordering the same materials for the properties we partner with and serve.

If you haven't arranged for snow removal services this season, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Give us a call or submit a request for a proposal, and one of our managers will promptly get in touch to address your specific needs.

Remember to drive safely and stay warm as we prepare for the winter season ahead.
